Mile High Roasting: More than Just a Name

There are a multitude of environmental factors that can have a significant impact on the flavor in your cup. Below are two of those factors that set us apart from the vast majority of other roasters.

Hot Air Roasting for the Cleanest Coffee

We roast on a specialized, all-electric hot air roaster. No combustible flammable gases are used in our roasting. This means there are no hydrogen sulfide contaminants on your coffee beans, which occurs when such gases are burned in traditional gas drum roasters.

High Altitude Roasting

We roast right at one mile in elevation, on a ranch on the rolling hills South of the Uinta mountain range. At this elevation, water boils about 10 degrees lower in temperature than it does at sea level. Such conditions allow us to perform a more gentle roast, which we believe makes for a smoother, less harsh coffee than otherwise can be made at lower altitudes.
